I was born November 2, 1959 in Denver, Colorado. When I was 10, my uncle Lucky had given me an 8mm Brownie camera, & I started making animated films. I grew up in So Cal in the 70's, playing rock music and absorbing nearby Hollywood. After studying photography at Art Center College of Design, I opened my first studio in the Little Tokyo District of Los Angeles in 1986. My work consisted of celebrity portraiture, music packaging, fashion, editorial and advertising assignments. In 1994 I moved to the San Francisco Bay area to continue my art & Commercial work.

In 1991, I began documenting the emerging underground hot rod & pin-up culture in California. 21 years later, my Hot Rod, Bordertown and Pin-up photographs have been exhibitied, collected and published worldwide.
